Labyrinths, by Jorge Luis Borges

Borges was an Argentine fantasy writer. This book is a collection of 20+ short stories, as well as about 10 essays on writing. His stories often have themes of mirrors, mazes, and the nature of reality. When I read them, I picture them in a swirly, fever-dream space. I could never read more than one story at a sitting; they’re like a rich dessert. This collection contains some of his better-known stories, including “The Garden of Forking Paths” and “The Library of Babel.”
